Nepal Missions Trip – July 2012

GAPE PRISON MINISTRIES – (INDIA & NEPAL)
Shanti Sadan, Sakhinetipalli – 533251, EG Dt, AP, INDIA

“meditate on and talk of all His marvelous deeds and devoutly praise them.” — Psalm 105:2

I am delighted to share the report and the wonderful things God has done during our recent missions trip to Nepal.

A team of 10 well-trained Agape Prison Ministries (India) volunteers was sent to Nepal to train Nepalese volunteers and conduct a Christian conference at Bhimpidi Prison, Nepal, from July 20 – July 31, 2012.

During my previous visits, I noticed that our Nepalese volunteers lacked proper training to continue prison ministry effectively. Since 2010, I had been praying for a way to equip them. God answered our prayers, giving us wisdom and an opportunity to send trained Indian volunteers to Nepal.

Last year, I encouraged our India prison team to take up this mission, and by God’s grace, He opened doors for it to happen.

Mission Highlights

July 24th – Training & Prayer Walk

The Indian team provided special training to the Nepalese team on conference talks and prison ministry guidelines. In the afternoon, both teams participated in a prayer walk across Kathmandu City.

July 25th – Training on Prison Reunions

The Indian team conducted training on how to continue prison reunions. Later, both teams attended prayer meetings in different churches.

July 26th – Children’s Retreat

At Anantha Asha Church, 70 children participated in the retreat. The Indian team led preaching, singing, teaching, and games. At the end, Agape Prison Ministries (India) provided a special meal for all children and volunteers.

July 27th – Christian Conference at Bhimpidi Prison

he Agape Prison Ministries conducted its first Christian conference at Bhimpidi Regional Prison, Mekawanpur, Nepal, with 17 volunteers (10 Indian, 7 Nepalese) and 60 inmates.

Since Bhimpidi is 260 km from Kathmandu, the team hired two vehicles for transportation. This 8-hour conference included testimonies, worship, preaching, and sharing God’s love.

According to the prison superintendent, this was the first Christian conference ever conducted in that facility. Praise the Lord!

The ministry provided:
✅ A feast for all inmates, staff, and volunteers
✅ A bookshelf, Bibles, and Christian literature for spiritual growth

A Conversation That Touched Our Hearts

💬 Inmates: Sirs, where did you come from?
🙏 Team: Southern India, from the state of Andhra Pradesh.
💬 Inmates: It was a long, costly, and difficult journey of two and a half days. Why did you come to visit us?
🙏 Team: Because we wanted to share the love of God with you.

🔹 “I was in prison and you came to visit me.” — Matthew 25:36
🔹 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” — Matthew 25:40

💬 Inmates: We have families, friends, and religious leaders, but they never visited or comforted us. Your GOD must be the true and living GOD! We want to follow HIM. We have felt His love through your actions. Amen!

🙌 The love of God, demonstrated in action, changed 60 lives in the prison!

🔹 “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” — James 2:17

July 28th – Worship Service at Pastor Reuben’s Church

The entire team attended worship service at Pastor Reuben’s church.
🔹 Team members shared God’s Word and sang worship songs in English.
🔹 At the end, each team member prayed individually for those in attendance.

Conclusion & Gratitude

The team returned to India on July 31st, safely completing the mission.

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who prayed and financially supported this mission. Your generosity made this mission a success.

Please continue to pray for the inmates and for the expansion of God’s Kingdom in Nepal.

Blessings!
